Study of cancer priorities and information needs

This short study of cancer priorities and information needs is being carried out by Fergus Houston under the supervision of Dr Simon Bomken, of the Wolfson Childhood Cancer Research Centre at the University of Newcastle. The aim of the study is to is to find out what information families living with A-T would like to know about cancer in A-T, what areas they would like cancer research to focus on, and what their opinion is on different research techniques.

This information is important to help us to understand what those most affected by A-T want from cancer research, and how we can support them with information about cancer. The results will be used, together with other criteria, to help design future research projects that better address people’s concerns. They may also help us to develop patient and family information resources about cancer in A-T.

For those who have been invited to participate in the study, extra copies of the questionnaire can be downloaded here.

This project is not financed by the A-T Society, but we are giving practical support, distributing the questionnaire to families.
