NATALIE I'm 23 years old, and I suffer from A-T. I was only diagnosed when I was 13 years old. Having A-T doesn’t stop me from doing the things I enjoy. I have successfully completed a descent of the Ardeche Gorge (in France). I have also successfully done a 15,000ft parachute jump in aid of two worthy charities, Martin House Children’s Hospice and the A-T Society. I’ve appeared in many papers for various things e.g. appeals, modelling, advertising etc. I have also appeared on television e.g. Children in Need 2002, ‘The Wish’ shown Christmas 2002 and my starring role in Emmerdale. During my time at St. Aidan’s school which is a mainstream school in Harrogate, I achieved 9 GCSEs. In September 2002 I attended Hereward College in Coventry for four years as a residential student to further my education, live more independently and to gain a social life. Best time of my life!!! During my time at Hereward I achieved GCSE Computer Graphics, GCSE Art and Design both at grade B, BTEC National Diploma Foundation studies in Art and Design and ECDL (the European Computer Driving Licence). I successfully lived more independently with minimal supervision. I feel this has been taken away from me a bit by moving back home but I am on the council housing list and I’m just waiting for an appropriate time to move out. After leaving Hereward in July 2007, I am now taking a Foundation degree in Visual Arts at Harrogate college, this is my second and last year, after this I will go on to do a BA top up. I have also got a job at St.Aidan's school for a couple of hours a week, doing admin work. I enjoy going out with my friends, staying out till all hours, horse riding when I can but not in the winter!!!, going on holidays with family and friends!! I love the sun (getting tanned) and what other girls like doing - shopping, going to the cinema, relaxing, watching tv, listening to music! etc......... |
