COUNSELLOR Helen Hart is an accredited counsellor (MBACP, MCOSCA) who offers a telephone and email support service to families affected by A-T. She is available for face-to-face consultation at the Family Day where, as part of the day’s programme, she also leads a discussion workshop for parents. Helen says: ‘All families cope with the continuing effects of the condition on daily family life, Maintaining a balance can be difficult at times, when individuals feel stretched in terms of what is available locally and their own personal resources.
