The 2019 Herfordshire Chamber Orchestra concert will be held at St Nicholas Church, Harpenden, on Saturday 12 January 2019, 7:30pm. We are delighted that internationally-acclaimed cellist, Guy Johnston, will be joining the orchestra as the solo cellist. Guy is really looking forward to performing in his home town in support of the A-T Society.
Guy Johnston is one of the most exciting and versatile British cellists of his generation. He achieved important early successes through the BBC Young Musician of the Year title, the Guilhemina Suggia Gift, the Shell London Symphony Orchestra Gerald MacDonald Award and receiving a Classical Brit Award at the Royal Albert Hall. His mentors have included Steven Doane, Ralph Kirshbaum, Bernard Greenhouse, Steven Isserlis and David Waterman.
